Hand-in Feedback from Personal Tutor

Below are some transcribed notes of my feedback from Marcus about my hand-in:

Marcus – 

See the same thing in different ways, think about the generic every day in a different way and discover. Think Artist who does closeup paintings of plugs

Show it in a new way, make others see…

Brixton – the visualisation of the thinking process – research, takes time, labour intensive

Research Method – Brixton look at language box parks, what material, what font and colour do they use, what are the rules, what do they look like when they are broken.

Analysising approach. In Process book visually annotate, think how it shows to other people, be deliberate 

Be rigorous with the process – combine visual analysis, all art galleries use this font and colour, apply this to box parks

Visual material Brixton, look for technical – ways of looking, the way you look will reveal how you are seeing through different perspectives

Experimentation, change methods

Investigative – context audience, shape outcomes and analyse and recognise

 How do people respond, back up a stronger case

Delve into research, what is socially expected at 8:00

What are technologies doing at 8:00 

How have other people informed ie

Someone has a feminist perspective, I have an interest in technology 

• Be informed by others

The success of type brief – Understood content, context, user, the discipline of typography.

Photography focused too heavily on the content, need to question the approach more.

Communicate meaning in unison medium and content, strap 6 cameras together, what happens when you take a photo. Experiment with how you hold the camera, 

Make it informed and interesting how can you push/break the medium

Strength of typography:  

Drawing from lots of different threads then weaving different strands of research together

How to implement within photography – experiment with how to hold the camera

Same methodology, what would happen if translated to a computer.

Intro to ways of thinking, how to build a machine different components.

Deal with Zelda: Embrace play more – with conflict – belittle the authority when confronted
